We provide a different tool for internal and external bottom brackets. Please use the following image to help you identify which you have:
The number of notches is different on Shimano and SRAM systems differs – the good news is that the tool we provide will fit both!
2. Crank attachment
If you have an internal bottom bracket, your cranks will either be attached to the bottom bracket by a square shaped connection, or an octalink star shaped connection. The tool we provide will do both types, you simply add a small attachment if it is an octalink type. If however you have an external bottom bracket – you will NOT need a crank puller to get your crank off.
