An Integrated Brake Cutout (single) is an upgraded feature found in some eBikes. It’s designed to interrupt the motor power when a single brake is applied.
Here’s how it works:
- When you apply the brake lever, the integrated brake cutout sends a signal to the eBike’s controller.
- The controller then instantly cuts power to the motor, allowing the brakes to work without any interference from the motor.
- Once the brake lever is released, the sensor sends another signal to the controller, which restores power to the motor.
The system is integrated into one brake lever only, typically the left one (front brake). This could be sufficient for casual riding, but for more aggressive or downhill riding, it might be beneficial to have a cutout for both brakes for additional safety.
The Integrated Brake Cutout (single) is suitable if you have brakes levers that are integrated (joined) to the gear selector. You will need one hydraulic cutout.
The magnet and sensor both have adhesive pads to attach them.
The brake lever on the left is replaced with a standard ebike brake lever and the lever on the right has the stick on sensor.
